A fine mahogany silver table (circa: 19th-Century) in the Chinese Chippendale style.

The rectangular table top with pierced fretwork gallery above a gadrooned edge on cluster column legs united by a turned 'X' stretcher. Based on a pattern for a ‘China Table’ published by Thomas Chippendale, in his Gentleman and Cabinet-Maker’s Director. This method of construction for delicate pierced fretworks was invented by Chippendale, in fact the very first form of “plywood”. 

Measurements: 73 cm (H); 74.3 cm (W); 55.5 cm (D).
