A fine mahogany silver table (circa: 19th-Century) in the Chinese Chippendale style.
The rectangular table-top with pierced fretwork gallery above a gadrooned edge on cluster-column legs and block feet united by a turned 'X' stretcher topped by a finial.
The table is based on a pattern for a ‘China Table’ published by Thomas Chippendale in his Gentleman and Cabinet-Maker’s Director. This method of construction for delicate pierced fretworks was invented by Chippendale.
Measurements: 73 cm (H); 74.3 cm (W); 55.5 cm (D).
