A mid-19th century naturally patinated bronze figure of the Greek God Apollo shown as a young male standing with a boar's head at his feet on a later marble base signed "R.tion Sauvage".
'R. tion Sauvage' refers to 'Réduction Sauvage', a technique of the inventor Frédéric Sauvage (1786-1857), with which large sculptures could be reduced in size.
Measurements (approx): H: 40.5 cm x D: 11.5 cm.
