These are expertly carved with deep, flowing scrolls and volutes, characteristic of the robust and decorative woodworking of the Italian Baroque era. Their sculptural presence defines the table's strong architectural character. Connecting the two trestle bases is a beautifully forged wrought iron stretcher. This functional yet highly decorative element features an intricate twisted central section and elegantly scrolled ends where it secures to the wooden supports.
