19th-century English Console Table
Item Description & Information
A striking 19th-century console table executed in the Chinese Chippendale manner with rich mahogany construction and warm, aged patina.
The rectangular top sits above a pierced frieze featuring alternating oval panels and vertical fretwork, creating rhythmic decorative interest. The defining element is the open lattice legs and stretchers, intricately carved with classic geometric Chinese-inspired fret patterns—delicate yet strong, evoking pagoda-like elegance while rooted in English tradition. Raised on square-section pierced legs terminating in simple block feet for stability. Ideal as a hall console, sofa table, or display piece in entryways, drawing rooms, or dining spaces.
Measurements: (Approx) 120 cm (W); 50 cm (D); 80 cm (H).
