19th-century Regency Period Mahogany Side Table
Item Description & Information
An elegant antique English Regency 19th-century mahogany pier table (c. 1810–1830). Embodying the refined neoclassical style of the Regency era with its clean lines, figured mahogany, and practical brass accents.
Crafted from richly grained solid mahogany with a warm, aged patina this side table features a rectangular top surrounded by a classic pierced brass gallery rail—a hallmark of Regency design that adds both sophistication and functionality by securing trays, lamps, or decorative objects. The single bowed (serpentine) frieze drawer is fitted with two original brass knobs and a central keyhole escutcheon, offering discreet storage while maintaining elegant symmetry.
Supported by four finely turned and reeded legs—tapered with distinctive ring turnings—this table stands on brass cup casters.
Perfect as a pier table between windows (ideal under a mirror to amplify light in drawing rooms or hallways), a console table in an entryway, or a versatile side table beside a sofa for books, drinks, or display. Its narrow depth and balanced proportions suit modern apartments, period homes, or eclectic interiors alike.
Measurements: 77 cm (H); 85.5 cm (W); 52 cm (D).
