A set of reverse-glass, coloured mezzotints of the four seasons, each with a different inscription content below the image and title.

A. Spring**

A fashionably-dressed young woman standing to right, looking towards the viewer, holding a wreath of flowers in both hands, her left elbow resting on the plinth of a fountain decorated with two entwined dolphins; a colonnaded portico in the background to left.

Inscription reads: (Left) J. Williams Pinxit /(Right) James McArdell Fecit - London Printed for John Bowles at the Black Horse in Cornhill.

B. Summer 

A fashionably-dressed young woman sitting against a grass verge, directed to left and head tilted to right, looking towards the viewer, holding corn/wheat in her apron, a sickle in in her left hand, resting on a bushel of wheat/corn; men working in a hay-field in the background to left.

Inscription reads: (Left) S. Wale delin/(Right) R. Houston et fecit - London Printed for John Bowles at the Black Horse in Cornhill.

C. Autmn

A well-dressed young woman shown glancing towards the viewer as she holds a basket of apples. Behind on the right a man stood up a ladder plucking apples from a tree as three women seem to be gather the apples. 

Inscription reads: James Mc.Ardell delin et fecit - London Printed for John Bowles at the Black Horse in Cornell.

D. Winter

A fashionably-dressed young woman standing to right, one hand at her throat, holding close the edges of her fur-trimmed cloak, her other hand in a small muff at waist level; a stone gateway to right, skaters and town buildings in the background to left.

Inscription reads: (Left) Wale delin/(Right) R. Houston et fecit - London Printed for John Bowles at the Black Horse in Cornhill.
