Stella Leo Wallpaper
Product Description & Information
One of the oldest garden flowers the
Dianthus Caryophyllus commonly known as the Carnation, has been for centuries, a much loved and favoured flower.
The name "carnation" is believed to originate from the Latin corona-ae, a "wreath or a crown", as it was one of the flowers used in Greek and Roman ceremonial crowns, or possibly from the Latin caro (genitive carnis), "flesh" or in Christian iconography incarnatio, "incarnation" - Jesus was the incarnation of God in flesh.
According to some legends, the Greek botanist Theophrastus gave the flower its scientific name: dianthus, a combination of the Greek words dios, which means divine and anthos, the word for flower.
Comprising of English floral motifs namely the honeysuckle which is symbolic of joy and happiness, the acorn which symbolises growth and perseverance and the carnation which symbolises love and distinction; all arranged in the Victorian Gothic style, this wallpaper was designed to celebrate the glorious coronation of His Majesty Charles III of England and pays tribute and homage to the rich heritage, culture and tradition of this great nation.
