An original wallpaper design by Brillig & Borogove, this lush and botanical themed wallpaper seeks to capture the form, shape and colour of the many fascinating elements of the Cannonball Tree.

Although the Cannonball Tree originally comes from South America, it has cultural and religious importance in India where it can often be found growing close to temples devoted to the God Shiva and is sacred to Hindus. Is is believed that the shape of the flower petals resemble the open hood of a snake under which the stigma resembling a Shiva Ling (abstract or aniconic representation of God Shiv) is sat. Given this unique form, the local name in Bengal for the tree is "Shiv Phool"  "Phool" means flowers in Hindi/Bengali. 

Combining detailed and true to form hand-drawn illustrations of the flowers, fruit, leaves, seed, stamen and stigma of this splendiferous flowering tree into a seamless repeating pattern, this colourful and bold wallpaper will brighten any interior space.
