A pair of Japanese Arita lacquer on porcelain vases. and covers. Circa: 19th century.
Each vase of elongated baluster-shape with scalloped mouth. The exterior covered throughout with red, black and gilt decorations over an underglaze of blue and white porcelain. The main body with rotating gilt, black and red lacquer decorations of birds in different settings. The rest of the surface decorated with fine geometric patterns in gilt.
Measurements: 48 cm (H).
