Item Description & Information

A beautiful and graceful oval (ovoid) footbath crafted in classic creamware (also known as Queen's Ware), produced by Wedgwood during the 19th century—likely the early to mid-period when such utilitarian bedroom items remained staples in refined households.

The form is generously proportioned with a distinctive everted (outward-turned) rim for easy pouring and handling, complemented by a pair of molded twin loop handles at either end for convenient carrying. The exterior displays characteristic raised horizontal banding—typically several evenly spaced bands—that lend subtle architectural interest and reinforce the structure.

Impressed "WEDGWOOD" mark to the underside (standard uppercase impressed stamp for much 19th-century creamware production; no additional pattern or date codes noted in typical examples).

This represents a classic example of Wedgwood's practical yet sophisticated output in the Georgian-to-Victorian transition, when creamware continued as an affordable luxury for sanitary and domestic accessories.

Measurements: 48 cm (W).
